Lin Xian found Ding Junyi unconscious and burning hot, her superpower at a peak. After he gave her an injection, she awoke, explaining she was in a trance while bonding with plants and accessing a higher dimension. She revealed that human superpowers and Abnormal Bodies might share the same origin.
"What precisely do you mean by ’common origin for both foes and allies’?” Lin Xian frowned. “Are you postulating that humanity’s superhuman abilities and the existence of these aberrant bodies stem from the same source?”
“There’s no need to prove this point any further,” Ding Junyi stated, her fingers moving rapidly across the keyboard without looking up. “With the discovery of cold dark fundamental particles and the subsequent dark energy data, our comprehension of dark energy is rapidly advancing. To use an analogy, much like oxygen is foundational to life on Blue Star, dark energy serves as the basis for those abnormal creatures.”
“So, you’re saying that humans mutated due to this ’oxygen’ and consequently gained superpowers?” Lin Xian countered, shaking his head. “While we strive for scientific explanations, the diverse superpower systems manifested by individuals don’t seem like mere random biological mutations.”
“You are absolutely correct!”
At this juncture, Ding Junyi turned around. “My meaning of a common origin for both enemies and allies is precisely this.”
Lin Xian’s expression gradually grew more serious.
“Are you suggesting that the awakening of a superpower system in users is a traceable phenomenon, perhaps ’bestowed’ under specific conditions?”
Ding Junyi paused for a beat before responding. “Currently, we still lack concrete evidence; this is merely a hypothesis I’ve formulated by integrating data from disaster plants, taboo items, and the long-term growth patterns of all superpowered individuals. My thinking is that disaster plants are, in essence, organic matter native to Blue Star, while taboo items represent some form of inorganic matter. These peculiar objects emit distinct properties, leading many to interpret them solely through the lenses of myth and magical artifacts.”
“Attempting to force a scientific explanation onto it won’t suffice either,” Lin Xian remarked.
“I understand your perspective,” Ding Junyi said, adjusting her glasses. “The essence of myths themselves is merely a creative extension by humans, drawing from the natural world. Conversely, to awaken these peculiar forces, such as the power of fire, does it imply that civilization has already grasped the ability to regulate natural phenomena, biology, and physics?”
Lin Xian appeared momentarily stunned by her words. “Well, I’m still not grasping the full picture.”
Ding Junyi looked directly at him, her voice carrying a sharp edge. “I dislike beating around the bush. My hypothesis is that human superpower users and the abnormal bodies spawned by the dark nest operate on fundamentally similar principles. The evolution crystal within humans allows for the complete utilization of dark energy’s power, just as the blood essence of abnormal bodies does. In essence, superpower users and abnormal bodies are identical, modified by dark energy. However, prior to crystal grid evolution, humans rely on their own life force and spiritual power to harness this energy. A staggering 99% of individuals fail to harness it, leading to a power riot that transforms them into living zombies. This also explains why members of the Hawk Sea Group can instantly double their spirit vibration value post-crystal grid evolution – because, fundamentally, this crystal grid is derived from human blood essence, nurtured by dark energy!”
“Of course, all of this remains my theoretical speculation at present, lacking rigorous experimental backing or definitive evidence. The reason I’m sharing such an unverified conjecture with you is that this hypothesis effectively and logically addresses numerous perplexing issues we’ve encountered in our research.”
Lin Xian’s face grew grim upon hearing this, and he instinctively inquired, “What issues, precisely?”
“Firstly, the zombie phenomenon. Excluding viral transmission, the characteristic of unending life force can be partially explained by this theory.”
“Secondly, the issue of evolution. Humans adapting to the encroaching darkness and undergoing mutations, perpetually teetering on the brink of conversion by dark energy.”
“Thirdly, the crystal grid anomaly. Both you and the Phoenix Society face this enigma. It’s possible the Phoenix Society has explored this line of thought and conducted extensive comparative research.”
Lin Xian nodded. “I did consider this. A crystal core manifesting within the human body bears a striking resemblance to the abnormal bodies.”
He then shrugged, turning his gaze back to Ding Junyi. “However, this still loops back to our initial point: the shared source is dark energy. Therefore, the similarity between human superpower evolution and abnormal bodies logically makes sense. Is there no other problem?”
“The common origin I refer to is not ’oxygen,’ but the individual itself,” Ding Junyi stated. She walked to the side, her green attire quickly withering and falling away. Retrieving a document from the bedside table, she tossed it to Lin Xian before finding a fresh set of clothes and slowly dressing. “Take a look at this.”
Lin Xian glanced at the document, recognizing it as an early classified file pertaining to the Angel Plan – a document he was not unfamiliar with, given KIKI had shown it to him when he was still in North Bay.
"I've encountered this before; it's the earliest assessment and investigative report on superpower users. The term 'spirit vibration value' actually originated from this Angel Plan."
Lin Xian stated as he perused the document, "The superpower system's peak value assessment was later refined by the Phoenix Society based on this foundation."
Ding Junyi smoothly dressed, donned a coat, shook her hair, and walked directly towards Lin Xian. She opened a page of the document and pointed to the concluding section.
Lin Xian's pupils constricted as he examined the page. "Exceeding awakened and superpower zombies—I've seen this too. Some superpower users, after awakening their spirit vibration value, directly reach the Vajra level or higher. I once heard from someone named Zhou Wuer in the Nightwalker Organization who was like this, as was Wen Zhuo. Many experts within the Phoenix Society are also like this. As for this sudden disappearance of superpowers..."
Lin Xian snapped the document shut and looked at Ding Junyi. "Just say it directly."
Ding Junyi took a deep breath, calmly met Lin Xian's gaze, and said, "Do you believe there's a connection between a superpower user's power vanishing into thin air and the extermination of a particular abnormal entity?"
Upon hearing this, Lin Xian's pupils contracted violently. He immediately gasped, exclaiming in shock, "Is that what you mean by the common source of enemies and allies?!"
