Colonel Petrov, facing the imminent threat of nuclear war, pressed the red button, initiating a global nuclear launch. Lin Xian witnessed the widespread destruction across cities worldwide as a simulation. The simulation concluded, and Lin Xian found himself back in the tent, with Hua Xiaoling gone and his Mechanical Heart gaining points.

Lin Xian glanced at his watch: "20 minutes?"

"Yes."

"Interesting."

Mere moments ago, Lin Xian had felt as though an entire night of devastation had unfolded, yet his watch indicated that only 20 minutes had elapsed.

"We must have been observed, or she wouldn't have materialized here so abruptly," Chen Sixuan stated. "However, judging by her demeanor, she doesn't appear to be here for a confrontation, does she?"

"It doesn't seem that way, at least not yet." Lin Xian drew a deep breath, his gaze settling on the projection sphere he held. A button was visible on its surface. Focusing his eyes, he pressed it once more with his thumb.

Instantly, a line of holographic text materialized:

[Do you wish to activate the 807th civilization's ending preview?]

"What? How did it leap from number 1 to 807?"

"What are you talking about?" Chen Sixuan inquired.

"I..." Lin Xian gestured towards the illuminated screen before him, letting out a sigh. He then proceeded to briefly recount the events to Chen Sixuan.

"That holographic projection felt incredibly immersive; it's as if you were directly interfaced with some kind of brain-computer program," Chen Sixuan deduced after hearing his explanation.

The realization struck Lin Xian as well. "Now that you mention it, did you also perceive that intense dark energy fluctuation just now?"

At that precise moment, Chen Sixuan raised her elbow, revealing a numerical display on the Soul Swinging Value Detector affixed to her arm.

32609!

"It surged instantaneously, triggering an alert. Since you weren't responding, I hurried over," Chen Sixuan explained, a slight frown on her face. "This entity is no less than S-Class."

Lin Xian retrieved the projection sphere, examining it closely. "Then I probably should have anticipated the reason."

"What's going on?"

"This object isn't merely a three-dimensional holographic display. Perhaps my eyes could only perceive the stereoscopic projection, but what this device truly depicts might be a visualization from a higher dimension, which explains the incredibly lifelike experience I endured."

This hypothesis stemmed from the characteristics of Taboo Items and Dark Gears that Hua Xiaoling had previously shared with him. It also served as a plausible, albeit tenuous, explanation for why his Mechanical Heart had absorbed such a significant quantity of dark energy, converting it into Mechanical Source Points.

After listening to Lin Xian's theory, Chen Sixuan fell into a thoughtful silence.

"Did she leave this item with you to convey some sort of message?"

Lin Xian gave a nod. "I can't say for certain right now, but this object is undoubtedly connected to the Dark Civilization. Perhaps we can uncover some clues within it."

He had detected no hostility from Hua Xiaoling, nor could he verify the veracity of her statements. For the moment, Lin Xian's only recourse was to attempt to decipher the intended message of this mysterious artifact.

To test his hypothesis, he settled back down, placing the sphere on the table. "Keep watch behind me," he instructed Chen Sixuan. "I need to see if my assumption is correct. Trying it again should confirm it."

Chen Sixuan gave him a look tinged with concern, but she eventually nodded. "Alright. They're on their way too. Be careful."

"If there were any real danger, I would have been dead by now," Lin Xian stated. His gaze was fixed, solemn, upon the projection sphere before him. Taking a deep breath, he extended his hand and pressed the button once more.

[Activating the 807th civilization ending preview]

A blue arc of light flickered at the core of the projection device. Subsequently, a holographic light display began to unfurl, gradually expanding until it encompassed the entirety of the tent's interior space.

Lin Xian experienced a blinding flash and instinctively shut his eyes.

Upon reopening them, his vision cleared. He found himself standing atop a colossal structure, a super-high Da Lou. The sky above appeared devoid of atmosphere, affording him a clear view of an immense, suspended planet.

"Greetings, individual number 17695516."

A gentle, soothing female voice emanated from behind him. Lin Xian turned, surprised to find he retained control over his physical form, though the movements felt unnaturally smooth, akin to mechanical torque. However, he had no time to examine his condition; standing behind him was a strikingly beautiful female robot. He couldn't ascertain if it was an Intelligent Brain or a semi-mechanized being, but one thing was certain: the entity was addressing him.

"Individual number 17695516," the female robot continued, its gaze fixed upon him.

"In accordance with the directive issued by the consensus neural decision-making body, you are required to execute within the next five minutes..."

"Complete suicide!"
