After narrowly escaping a catastrophic event in the deep ocean, Lin Xian and his crew aboard the Infinity surface amidst a dense fog. A mysterious countdown looms, with less than an hour remaining, causing Lin Xian to consider separating from the ship as a safety measure before its unknown end.
"No!"

As soon as Lin Xian uttered his refusal, a telekinetic force suddenly seized him, lifting him into the air. He looked at KIKI, whose eyes blazed with anger.

"No matter what happens, I'm with you. Don't even think about facing this alone."

A helpless smile touched Lin Xian's lips. "I'm not that reckless. I'll make sure to maintain a distance where we can coordinate. I've considered this: the countdown only appears in my vision, invisible to others. This suggests a unique power or technology, either targeting me specifically or, more broadly, signaling the end of the world. The latter would be simpler to deal with."

Before he could finish, a stubborn kiss silenced him, her lips pressing against his as she mumbled,

"No doomsday allowed. I want you to live!"

KIKI's words were disjointed, and Lin Xian was taken aback by the warm current flowing from her face to his, her lips on his skin feeling hot and moist.

A warmth stirred in Lin Xian's heart; the feeling of being cherished offered a temporary solace, easing his mood.

Lin Xian stood there, stunned, letting the girl's kiss linger. KIKI suddenly pulled away, covering his eyes to quickly wipe away her tears before releasing him. Lin Xian looked at her, her eyes slightly red, glaring at him.

"What are you staring at? Hurry up and figure something out!"

Lin Xian appeared bewildered. "Time is short; we need a temporary strategy. We'd planned this after escaping the vortex last night, but we unexpectedly slept for so long."

"Yes, time is definitely limited," KIKI agreed, her eyes red as she gazed at him, seemingly searching his eyes for the countdown or any sign of his fear. Yet, his eyes held only calm, tinged with a hint of helplessness.

For some reason, Lin Xian's expression caused a pang in KIKI's heart. This was the Lin Xian who had performed miracles against three Star Abyss assaults, now seemingly resigned to his fate. Just hours ago, he had heroically led hundreds to safety, escaping the terrifying Giant Ocean God and a colossal vortex. Now, he seemed to be accepting his doom.

The thought brought an inexplicable tightness to KIKI's chest, a heartache that overshadowed Lin Xian's words. Abruptly, she reached for him, placing his hands on her waist. Then, like a tenacious vine, she wrapped her legs around his waist and kissed him fiercely, top to bottom.

It was an assertive, passionate kiss, filled with pride and defiance.

Lin Xian was stunned. This was hardly the time for intimacy, with less than an hour remaining. If she wanted to kiss, yesterday would have been a better time to plan countermeasures.

For instance, if panic erupted and Lin Xian couldn't be saved, how would the others on the Infinity evacuate?

But KIKI was completely absorbed, clinging to Lin Xian like a determined monkey climbing a tree. Their fervent embrace intensified, and with a telekinetic push, Lin Xian found himself seated on a chair, with KIKI settling onto his lap.

"Hey, beauty, this isn't the right moment..."

"Shut up."

"Alright, just one minute of kissing."

With a sharp sound, Lin Xian's shirt was ripped apart by an unseen telekinetic force.

Lin Xian immediately pushed KIKI away, shocked. "Wait, what are you doing? Aren't you underage?"

Tears welled at the corners of KIKI's eyes, but she smiled, crossing her arms proudly. "The world isn't ending; only a fool like you would believe that."

Lin Xian: ?

"Still, it's not the right time," Lin Xian said, his tone serious. "There are 50 minutes left."

"So what?" KIKI's neck flushed as she boldly proposed, "This time... isn't enough?"

Lin Xian: ???

"No." Lin Xian's pupils dilated; he wondered if they were discussing the same thing.

Observing KIKI's flushed face, he detected a subtle tremor of fear beneath her defiant, teasing gaze. Lin Xian's heart softened instantly. He earnestly held KIKI's shoulders.

"Girl, I believe we can utilize this time to devise more strategies. Perhaps this countdown is merely a reminder or a clue; I might not have to die. Do you understand what I mean?"

KIKI gazed at Lin Xian's bare chest, her expression complex and shifting. Then, she quietly nuzzled against him, remaining still.

Lin Xian sighed internally. Just then, a voice suddenly echoed.

[For adult humans, a pleasurable sexual experience can help alleviate anxiety, particularly post-combat. It’s beneficial for both sexes.]

Startled by the voice, KIKI sprang up and turned around.

"You... why didn't I see you?!!"

Lin Xian looked embarrassed. "She's been standing here the whole time."

Viola, with her hands clasped behind her back, calmly stated, "You have intense emotions for Lin Xian, directly leading to your excessive concern for his safety and state, affecting your emotions and focus. Under these circumstances, it’s perfectly normal for you not to notice me."

KIKI, filled with indignation, shot Lin Xian a furious glare.

"What's intense? I'm merely concerned about our captain; let's not overanalyze."

Viola responded, "Individual emotions are comprised of various complex factors, and different perspectives yield different results. However, as an artificial intelligence, Viola judges based on comprehensive data. Miss KIKI’s current state aligns with human emotional indicators..."

"Enough, stop!!" KIKI's face flushed crimson as she hastily silenced Viola. Though bold, Viola was just a robot, and the young woman lacked the brazenness to endure such an interrogation. Preoccupied, she quickly interrupted Viola.

But suddenly, Lin Xian embraced KIKI and, looking back at Viola with surprise, spoke.

"Viola, repeat what you just said!"

KIKI looked up, her face burning, uncertain why Lin Xian asked Viola to repeat herself. Yet, observing the gravity in Lin Xian’s gaze, she grew serious as well.

[Individual emotions...]

"That middle sentence."

[Different perspectives yield different structural results]

Lin Xian’s pupils dilated as a sudden realization dawned upon him.

Seated upon him, KIKI noticed Lin Xian's expression and quickly inquired,

"Lin Xian, do you have a plan?"

Lin Xian shook his head, a look of bewilderment on his face as he gazed at KIKI.

"Girl, do you recall what Chen Yanshu said to me when we found him?"

"What did he say?"

"He claimed I was infatuated with the power of Taboo Items, calling it the 'Master's' power."

KIKI immediately remembered: "Yes, that was around the time you exhibited some unusual behavior; we thought you were under attack."

Lin Xian looked at KIKI, his brow furrowed in thought: "I didn't give that statement much thought then, believing he was referring to the Taboo Item I possessed on Infinity. But reflecting now, what if it wasn't?"

KIKI was perplexed: "I don't understand your meaning. He's affiliated with Holy Revelation and collaborates with the Foundation, so it's hardly surprising he'd know we possess Taboo Items."

Lin Xian shook his head: "That was my initial assumption too, which is why I didn't focus on it. But recalling it now, I feel he was referring to the situation occurring at that very moment."

"The situation at that time?"

"From Chen Yanshu's viewpoint, could he have perceived something on me that prompted such a remark?" Lin Xian mused.

KIKI looked bewildered: "But you didn't possess any Taboo Items back then."

"Actually, speaking of which, there was one."

Lin Xian's hair suddenly stood on end as he and KIKI exchanged a look, their minds simultaneously converging on a single possibility.

"Flashing Bullet?!" KIKI frowned, her expression one of surprise.

Lin Xian stated gravely: "At that time, I felt a connection with Grace's side, which, upon reflection, is likely due to my containment link with Flashing Bullet!"

"Are you suggesting the countdown might be Chen Yanshu's doing?"

Lin Xian's mind raced; a sudden memory surfaced.

He promptly activated the Black Star Forge, his consciousness guiding it as a dark object silently drifted within the void-like stellar interior.

The black gear floated with an ethereal slowness.

Accompanied by a subtle ripple of energy.

Lin Xian extended his hand to grasp it, intending to investigate it thoroughly.

But at that precise moment, he suddenly observed the countdown displayed before him alter.

The seconds began to accelerate drastically; what was once a 52-minute countdown was now rapidly dwindling with each passing moment!

The remaining minutes had shrunk to a mere 52 seconds!!
