Ye Zhongming investigates the Desert Secret Realm, where Zhao Xingmei's battalion has encountered a deadly, transparent barrier protecting oases and indigenous inhabitants. Previous attempts to breach the barrier have resulted in heavy losses, even for powerful individuals. Ye Zhongming decides to send Big Yellow and Jiubao to scout the barrier from above and below.

Big Yellow's new beast gear gave it the ability to fly for short periods. Hearing Ye Zhongming's command, it shot out immediately, charging straight toward the nearest oasis.

Underground, a small but fast-moving sand mound raced in the same direction, no slower than Big Yellow in the sky.

With two level-nine lifeforms acting simultaneously, the atmosphere grew tense. Bai Feng, Zhao Xingmei, and Sha Sha all signaled to their subordinates—ready to launch an attack the moment there was a result.

During its flight, countless metal spheres formed around Big Yellow, moving along with its body.

Ye Zhongming watched quietly, his body sensing the surroundings.

In the Bru Secret Realm, top-tier lifeforms had to suppress their strength, or they would accelerate the destruction of the already unstable space.

He had carefully sensed it on Earth and found that this wouldn't happen—at least, there should be no problem with him using his full power.

Here, Ye Zhongming wanted to see if going all-out would destabilize this space.

As he raised his aura and his internal energy surged, Ye Zhongming felt nothing abnormal, so he relaxed.

Though he couldn't be absolutely certain that his actions wouldn't affect the space, at least it shouldn't collapse.

Big Yellow and Jiubao were both fast. Since Ye Zhongming had told them to go all out, they held nothing back and crashed straight into the invisible boundary.

A loud impact echoed across a wide area, the two sounds less than a second apart.

Big Yellow was sent flying back over ten meters. After stabilizing, it shook its head and let out a roar at the watery, transparent boundary that had now become visible.

Underground, Jiubao was similarly blocked, though it wasn't thrown back as far as Big Yellow.

Clearly, the boundary existed underground as well.

"It exists both above and below ground?"

Ye Zhongming muttered to himself, then gave Big Yellow and Jiubao new orders. The two top-tier war beasts immediately responded—one flew higher, the other dug deeper, each attacking at intervals to see if the boundary was still there.

Ye Zhongming reasoned that no matter what this boundary was, it must have a limit—whether in height or depth, it couldn't be infinite, right? If they could find that limit, there might be a way to bypass it.

But after a few minutes, Ye Zhongming's brow furrowed.

Both Big Yellow, ascending, and Jiubao, descending, sent back the same message—the boundary was still there.

That was a real problem.

Ye Zhongming called them back; there was no point in testing further.

The two war beasts reluctantly turned back.

But just as they turned, the oasis within the boundary suddenly erupted with lifeforms.

"It can block reconnaissance too..." Ye Zhongming squinted, took a quick scan, and ordered Zhao Xingmei's troops to engage, following Jiubao's path for a breakthrough. Bai Feng's forces would flank from both sides, simultaneously keeping an eye on the two rear oases to prevent them from launching attacks from the flanks.

With the Cloud Peak King personally on the scene, the soldiers of these three peripheral battalions were extremely excited, each eager to perform well before this legendary figure.

Sensing lifeforms emerging from the boundary, Big Yellow turned around. It descended slowly on its beast gear's wings, and by the time it touched the ground, Cloud Peak's most loyal war beast could see the creatures charging out.

They came in three waves. In the front were massive parasites, their advance shaking the ground.

Behind them were a fair number of mutated lifeforms, looser in formation than the parasites, but clearly adjusting direction for the coming battle.

What drew Big Yellow's attention most were the humanoid figures at the rear—the native inhabitants—but they were all cavalry!

That is, each native had a mount—some ground-running, some flying, well-organized by tier.

Though a war beast, Big Yellow had top-tier intelligence and had participated in nearly all of Cloud Peak's major battles, giving it a deep understanding of various unit types and their combat methods.

Though it didn't understand strategy or tactics, it could tell that the enemy's formation wasn't a chaotic mob—it was deliberate.

This meant the enemy was no rabble.

Big Yellow also sensed two top-tier lifeforms among the third wave of native attackers, though they were well-hidden, so it couldn't pinpoint which ones.

Big Yellow glanced back at Ye Zhongming in the distance. Seeing its master nod, it grew excited.

As one of those going up to the sky with Ye Zhongming, it too had undergone the enhancement plan, and had been the first top-tier lifeform to complete it.

This was thanks to its ability to freely replace skills.

Of course, Big Yellow's innate abilities had always been excellent; it had only replaced two of them.

Both Ye Zhongming and Big Yellow felt it was time to fight unrestrainedly, as preparation for what awaited them above.

The dragon horn on its forehead began to glow. Big Yellow suddenly roared, and half of the metal spheres around its body shot out. At the same time, it shifted from stillness to a full charge—each step forward ignited a flame beneath its foot, which sank into the ground.

If you looked closely, you could see black trails curving across the sand in Big Yellow's path, as if something had been scorched, with faint wisps of smoke rising.

On top of that, a massive metal grid appeared where Big Yellow had first stood—like several skyscrapers connected together, with exaggerated width and height, its color blending with the fine sand as if it had grown from the ground.

The lead parasite wave visibly faltered at Big Yellow's roar, then slowed. By the time they recovered, the metal spheres had already blasted into their ranks, sending blood flying and many lifeforms shattered into pulp. The once-orderly charge was riddled with gaps.

As they drew close to Big Yellow, the black trails on the ground erupted in countless flames, forming irregular walls of fire. Many lifeforms over the black trails were blasted skyward, ignited, and fell back as fireballs.

Big Yellow charged in, the metal spheres around it tumbling and smashing the surrounding parasites into flying chunks of flesh.

The parasite wave from the oasis wasn't too large—perhaps only about ten thousand—but before Big Yellow alone, they were utterly defenseless, brutally slaughtered.
