Apocalypse Gachapon Chapter 2249: Breaking through
Previously on Apocalypse Gachapon...
A turning point?
Many people had that thought when they saw Jiersaierting plummeting downward.
If they could wipe out all the Reina Star people who had come here, then perhaps the fighting between the Huo'er Star people and the Su Clan could stop.
Delma and Kirsailting, along with their Crown Guard escort, had died unexpectedly and been annihilated. That reason would be enough to shut the Reina Star people up.
As for what kind of life form had killed them, there was no need for explanation; if peak experts were truly invincible, then on the planet hunting grounds, the Huo'er Star people and Reina Star people would not have stayed in one place like other races.
Many clever people, quick thinkers, and those who had not yet been consumed by bloodlust stopped attacking their immediate targets and instead jointly attacked the Crown Guard, causing this already heavily depleted force to suffer a massive blow in an instant, with their numbers dropping below a thousand.
Even the great-expert commander of the Crown Guard, who had been fighting left and right, was wounded by the combined attacks of Leilei Bird and two other Huo'er Star great experts and had to withdraw back to Delma's side.
At this point, they too were somewhat unwilling to continue fighting; these fewer than a thousand Reina Star people were more concerned with Jiersaierting's life or death.
If this peak expert was still alive, then they had hope of survival; if he was dead, it mattered little whether they fought on—death was only a matter of time.
Kirsailting’s body fell from the sky, drawing the attention of every living being on the battlefield. Even Kunzuo, who seemed to have secured victory, stood there holding the Fallen Saint Bow, panting as he watched. His attack just now had exhausted most of his physical strength.
Kunzuo was confident that he could defeat Kirsailting, but he did not know exactly when that defeat would come. Now it looked like it should be over, but who could say? A peak expert ought to struggle at least a little.
Kirsailting did struggle, and in a very surprising way.
Just as he was in free fall and about to hit the ground, Kirsailting’s entire body moved, and like a fish, he smoothly curved through the air, sped over to Delma at tremendous speed, grabbed the prince's hand, and without a word flew off in one direction.
He did not look at all like someone who had just been hit by a Lie God-grade weapon; his speed caught many off guard.
Kunzuo shouted, raised the Fallen Saint Bow in his hand, shot an arrow in that direction, and then gave chase himself.
But he knew very well that speed was not his specialty, whereas Jiersaierting had considerable skill in this area. If this arrow did not effectively hinder his opponent, then there would truly be no stopping him.
A peak expert, even an injured one, who wanted to flee could not be caught up with by others.
The red energy arrow drew a bright line through the air, chasing straight after Kirsailting. The Reina Star peak expert turned back and threw something behind him; with a thud, it turned into a jade monster head, grinning maliciously as it opened its mouth and bit down on the arrow.
How could a Lie God-grade weapon be so easily blocked? This jade monster head was clearly also very high-level, even giving the impression of being alive, but it was still shot straight through by the arrow. However, although the arrow had broken through the obstruction, its momentum was spent, and after flying a few hundred more meters, it burst with a pop.
The distance to Kirsailting was only a few dozen meters.
It could hardly be called a pity, because the gap was still too far.
Kunzuo stopped; he knew that by now he could no longer catch up. Because Kirsailting had abandoned flying through the air. After all, he was carrying a person, and once on the ground, even with someone in tow, his speed was basically no longer hindered.
And so the situation became the most complicated possible.
After Delma returned, no matter what punishment he himself would face from his clan, externally, the Reina Star people would definitely carve out a large chunk from the Huo'er Star people and the Su Clan.
Before this, the Huo'er Star people had been the "victims," and after having already suffered such losses, it should now have been time for them to reap rewards, with the Su Clan and the small-race alliance bleeding heavily.
But once the Reina Star people intervened, the Huo'er Star people's share would certainly be reduced, and the matter would become extremely complicated, with no telling how many more troubles would follow.
But what could Kunzuo do now? Who could blame him for being wounded at the time and allowing Delma to deploy troops while he recovered? Who could blame them for being Reina Star people, a supermajor race on equal footing with the Huo'er Star people, and a high-ranking prince at that!
There had been too many coincidences in all of this, which was why today's situation had come about.
Once Kirsailting fled, their battle with the Su Clan and the small-race alliance was completely meaningless. All of them had died in vain!
The more Kunzuo thought about it, the angrier he became. If not for his extremely poor condition at that moment, he would even have wanted to fire another arrow. If he could not stop Kirsailting, at least force him to increase his speed and hopefully leave behind a hidden injury that would never heal.
Just as Kunzuo was inwardly stamping his feet in frustration, he saw hundreds of energy feathers suddenly appear all around Kirsailting and Delma!
Kunzuo was slightly startled, then his body, which had already stopped in midair, suddenly shot forward.
The ones who had intercepted Kirsailting were the two Star-Eye Clan leaders.
They were the clan chiefs of the Star-Eye Clan and were accustomed to viewing matters from a strategic perspective, so after the failed assassination of Delma, they had not made another move.
They had been waiting, waiting for an opportunity to strike with one fatal blow, or for a chance to change the situation.
Now, they had gotten their chance.
The two clan leaders, like Kunzuo, naturally knew what it would mean if Delma escaped, so after the situation changed, they had been watching closely.
As it happened, the place where they had been hiding was on the side toward which Kirsailting was fleeing. The two clan leaders activated almost without hesitation and moved in the same direction.
They needed to find a suitable spot to launch a surprise attack on a peak expert and a great expert!
As for the rank gap between them, the two of them no longer considered it.
They only knew that they needed to hold the two back for just a moment—that much time would be enough for Kunzuo to catch up. They also knew that if these two got away, the Su Clan might survive in the end, but the Star-Eye Clan certainly would not. They would surely become the first sacrifice in the power struggle between the parties.
So, having run ahead a distance and stopped to enter stealth after Kirsailting descended from the sky to the ground, the two clan chiefs brazenly launched their attack against an enemy far, far stronger than themselves!
