Apocalypse Gachapon Chapter 2077: Potato and mashed potato's love
Previously on Apocalypse Gachapon...
Typically, Xia Lei would converse with Yangos. After all, among the evolved, few could exchange words with the evil dragon without being annihilated. Liu Zhenghong was one such individual, and Xia Lei was another.
Even during their talks, Xia Lei insisted Yangos maintain a considerable distance or direct its maw towards the heavens.
There was little alternative; this creature's speech was not only coarse but its very breath was offensive.
Yet, at this very moment, despite Yangos having opened its mouth not far behind Xia Lei, she felt no irritation. Instead, a wave of elation surged within her heart.
"Long Wings, if you falter today, we all perish here."
Upon uttering these words, Xia Lei's posture even eased slightly.
"Perform what?" Yangos inquired, its gaze then falling upon the endless horde of green-skinned monstrosities stretching before them.
"Oh, can we not make our escape?"
This question was far more characteristic of Yangos.
But Xia Lei remained unperturbed. She simply shook her head, remarking, "Observe that film of gray matter enveloping us? Until this barrier is breached, egress is impossible."
Uncharacteristically, Yangos refrained from its usual boisterousness. Instead, it contemplated the peculiar substance that severed their connection to the outside world.
If Xia Lei's assessment proved accurate, Yangos recognized the gravity of their situation and the necessity for decisive action.

Forces from Cloud Peak, positioned externally, harbored a desire to intervene, but their efforts were met with formidable opposition.
The ambush and sudden assault by the green-skinned monsters upon Cloud Peak were not merely confined to the command center; extensive preparations had been meticulously crafted to guarantee the success of this surprise maneuver.
Firstly, Cloud Peak's estimations regarding enemy numbers were gravely mistaken. The actual count of these parasites exceeded 5.5 million, surpassing 6 million. Out of the lurking lesser two million, one million green-skinned creatures accompanied the primary assault on Cloud Peak’s command hub, while an additional five hundred thousand landed on the ground, advancing to the forefront of the command center to obstruct any approaching reinforcements.
A contingent of five hundred thousand might not have posed a significant threat to Cloud Peak during its zenith, but currently, their mere presence before the vast expanse of gray material was sufficient to shatter the morale of Cloud Peak’s relief forces.
Every passing second represented an amplified peril to the lives of the Cloud Peak personnel isolated within the command center. A delay of merely five seconds could drastically alter the ultimate outcome.
After all, accounting for the personnel within the command center, supplemented by Talking Lady’s zombie legion and a scattering of Cloud Peak combatants coincidentally present, the total number would not exceed one hundred thousand. The number of high-tier life forms was exceedingly small. Confronted by a million adversaries, a substantial portion of whom were undoubtedly elite monsters, their capacity to hold out would be regrettably brief.
Secondly, prior to this engagement, Cloud Peak personnel were perplexed not only by the scarcity of high-tier life forms amongst such a vast swarm of parasites but also by the surprisingly low number capable of flight. This very anomaly was a primary reason why Xia Lei and Guangyao suspected a premeditated ambush.
In their previous encounters with these parasites, Cloud Peak had noted a considerable presence of aerial-type creatures.
Now, with the initiation of the surprise attack, an answer to this prior mystery emerged. Over two hundred thousand flying parasites materialized, intercepting Cloud Peak’s aerial forces, which should have been the vanguard to reach the command center.
The two opposing aerial forces clashed ferociously just before the enigmatic substance.
Since Ye Zhongming's departure to engage with the Cosmic Races, Red Hair’s closest confidantes within Cloud Peak were Xia Lei and Liang Chuyin.
Given her intricate connection with Ye Zhongming, this extraordinary being naturally harbored a inherent affinity towards the women associated with him. Xia Lei and Liang Chuyin fit this description: one possessed exceptional emotional intelligence, capable of forming genuine friendships with virtually anyone, while the other was a forthright individual who viewed Red Hair not as an alien at all. If Red Hair wasn't close to them, who else could she possibly confide in?
Consequently, when Xia Lei found herself cornered, Red Hair’s anxiety soared.
Such a profound emotion was rarely exhibited by her, rendering the experience both unfamiliar and disquieting.
However, none of these internal struggles deterred Red Hair from her unwavering resolve to rescue Xia Lei.
Upon witnessing the enemy's aerial contingent materialize unexpectedly, Red Hair immediately assumed her most formidable state—adorned with wings and wielding a lengthy spear, resembling a celestial warrior bathed in blood.
"Entrust those two to me; the remainder are your charge," she declared.
Communicating this directive to the Undead Dragonfish, Red Hair surged forward, targeting a supreme aerial entity. The spear in her grasp launched forth. Initially separated by a distance of at least twenty meters from her quarry, the instant the spear struck, its spectral image appeared before the life form’s very eyes.
Out of the two hundred thousand flying parasites, the proportion of peak life forms was not substantial; Red Hair could only sense three such beings. One of them remained outside the confined zone established by the monsters, evidently guarding the ultimate portal, while the other two were in close proximity to Red Hair.
With a swift spear thrust, the flying monster was wounded, a gash appearing in its form. Red Hair then beat her wings, pirouetting in mid-air, and positioned herself between the two elite flying parasites.
Her long, crimson hair unfurled like a tempest, rapidly weaving a vast cocoon of hair around her, ensnaring herself and the two supreme parasites within.
"Only the living possess the right to depart."
Red Hair resolved to confront two beings of equivalent standing on her own!
Beyond the hair sphere, other flying parasites attempted to breach it, but their ranks were too low. Their assaults yielded little effect, and they faced a harsh counteroffensive from Cloud Peak's aerial forces.
Furthermore, let us not forget the Undead Dragonfish lurking outside.
This undead entity, having absorbed a fragment of the Nine-Winged Crow's legacy, had transcended its pure undead state, now existing as a hybrid of the undead and the living.
Sensing Red Hair's mounting urgency, the Undead Dragonfish, much like its ally, committed fully from the outset.
Its body expanded dramatically, rising to an upright posture momentarily. Its wings advanced, expelling currents of dark, luminous fog that hampered the agility of any parasites it touched. Subsequently, the Undead Dragonfish opened its maw and began to continuously spew a cyan-green fluid in waves before it.
From a distance, it appeared as if a downpour had commenced.
The parasites, whose movement had just been impaired, were thoroughly drenched. In the subsequent moment, their flesh and blood started to decay. Amidst their immobilized terror, they felt their life force draining away.
Even more chilling was the fact that even after the flesh and blood of these creatures desiccated into corpses, they did not plummet from the sky. Instead, they remained suspended, their forms shrouded in wisps of dark fog.
This onslaught from the Undead Dragonfish persisted for a considerable duration, a full minute. It transformed the parasites within expansive areas into desiccated husks, numbering no less than fifteen thousand.
The Undead Dragonfish did not cease its assault. Following the expulsion of the corrosive liquid, it let out a piercing cry. The suspended corpses of the flying parasites in the air immediately rotated, their forms turning to attack their still-living kin.
