White Robe is furious after receiving a notice from Darkstrip City Committee. The notice details an attack on the Xuehuo people, an expansion of the city guard requiring personnel and taxes, and a drastic price increase for land Ye Zhongming wanted to purchase. Cheng Liujin explains this is extortion. Despite his anger, Ye Zhongming decides to pay the exorbitant fees to avoid further trouble.

Library Palace.

Zizi Kaba was seated before the Old Dean, patiently awaiting his instructions.

A significant number of individuals harbored dissatisfaction with the cosmic races and their current predicaments, extending far beyond Ye Zhongming, Jie Kui, White Robe, and their associates.

Zizi Kaba found himself among them, harboring his own discontent. Thus, within the hallowed halls of the Library Palace, a sanctuary he believed to be removed from the world's chaos, he inadvertently let slip his true sentiments. Following over a decade of interaction, he evolved into an external operative for the Library Palace. Five more years passed, and he ascended to the leadership of these external agents.

His duties, while simple to articulate, proved arduous in their execution—encompassing any task the Library Palace required of him.

On this particular day, Zizi Kaba bore tidings, information of considerable import to both the Library Palace and himself.

These matters pertained to Darkstrip City, the Star-Eye Clan, and Ye Zhongming.

Zizi Kaba was aware that the Library Palace maintained a separate network operating externally. However, he possessed no knowledge of its overseer or its members. This lack of information did not present a threat, as the Old Dean had proactively disclosed its existence, also clarifying that while their intelligence gathering might overlap, their respective assignments in other domains were distinct.

He remained uncertain if this other channel had relayed the same message. Yet, knowing that he himself had been tasked with conveying it, he felt compelled to deliver it with the utmost haste. After all, that newcomer hailing from Earth was the very individual upon whom the Library Palace had placed its most significant reliance.

"The young one appears to be enduring a rather arduous period," the Old Dean remarked, a gentle chuckle escaping him, as if the tribulations currently confronting the Star-Eye Clan were of little consequence.

Indeed, this was largely the case. Such challenges could be surmounted with a mere breath from the Library Palace.

"This represents a common approach adopted by certain races. They place greater faith in the principle of 'survival of the fittest' rather than consolidating all their forces to uncover the genuine path to salvation," the Old Dean stated.

A smile played on the Old Dean's lips as he listened, recognizing Zizi Kaba's inner frustration with numerous aspects of the universe's myriad races.

"Under such circumstances, take ten million Moonspan Gold and convey it to him. This will aid him in navigating this challenging juncture."

Zizi Kaba inclined his head in agreement before voicing his concern, "Might we explore alternative resolutions? While the Library Palace possesses ample wealth, furnishing him with such a substantial sum again within such a brief timeframe does seem somewhat imprudent, does it not?"

Given Zizi Kaba's position as both a student and a confidant to the Old Dean, his words carried fewer inhibitions. His hesitation stemmed not from an unwillingness to provide Ye Zhongming with funds, but rather from a fear of inadvertently drawing unwanted attention due to the conspicuous possession of wealth.

The Old Dean countered with a shake of his head. "That young man is well aware of his actions. My assessment is that he can surmount this predicament independently. Extending financial assistance serves a dual purpose: firstly, it signifies to him that the Library Palace stands as his unwavering support. Secondly, it is our hope that he can accelerate his development and growth, unhindered by petty obstacles."

Upon hearing this, Zizi Kaba acquiesced, stating, "Very well, I shall arrange for someone to deliver the funds to him."

"Mmm," the Old Dean affirmed with a nod, then added, "On a related note, convey an additional message to that young man."

"Ensure matters are expedited. When the opportune moment arrives, even if he were to shatter the heavens, intervention will be provided to support him."

………………………………

Unbeknownst to Ye Zhongming, the intelligence network of the Library Palace was remarkably astute, having already ascertained the recent slight he had endured.

His intention was to address this matter on his own terms.

What he required most critically at this juncture was time. Given sufficient time, he harbored absolute confidence in his ability to bring about the downfall of those adversaries within Darkstrip City.

However, direct confrontation was currently unfeasible. Both he and the Star-Eye Clan were still too vulnerable.

Following his meeting with the two clan leaders, Cheng Liujin assumed the role of liaison for the City Committee. The Gold Camp Order Leader demonstrated a considerably more nuanced approach to interpersonal diplomacy than others.

Observing Cheng Liujin orchestrate banquets, offer flattery, and disburse considerable sums of Moonspan Gold, both White Robe and Ye Zhongming experienced a sense of unease.

Yet, such actions were deemed unavoidable. The Star-Eye Clan was destined to traverse this phase of hardship.

Cheng Liujin's endeavors were not in vain. Although negotiations regarding land prices and the city guard establishments remained inflexible, at the very least, no further obstacles were placed before the Star-Eye Clan in the inquiry into the Xuehuo people's attack.

Naturally, the financial drain persisted unabated; an additional hundred thousand Moonspan Gold was disbursed.

Ye Zhongming could not help but heave a sigh at this moment. He had contended fiercely to secure the top position among the Novices, only to receive a prize of a mere ten thousand Moonspan Gold. In comparison to these exploitative races, it seemed utterly insignificant.

After spending two and a half million Moonspan Gold for the land, Ye Zhongming chose not to immediately commence construction, as funds were currently scarce. Instead, he arranged for a basic fencing of the property and planted some ordinary crops.

Subsequently, Ye Zhongming anonymously posted several tasks throughout Darkstrip City. These tasks appeared trivial, involving minor assassinations and other small matters. The details such as who posted them, the dates, and the reward amounts all varied, presenting a facade of normalcy to the outside observer.

However, Ye Zhongming was aware that as these minor tasks were systematically completed, Darkstrip City would descend into a state of controlled chaos. This disruption, while not overtly catastrophic, would significantly occupy the attention of the Eight Powers and the two city guard forces, keeping them perpetually on the move.

Consequently, they would have limited capacity to focus their attention on the Star-Eye Clan.

Even if they continued their exploitative actions, Ye Zhongming remained unfazed. His primary concern was the acquisition of time.

These posted bounties might not yield immediate personal gain, but they served the crucial purpose of granting him the most valuable resource he currently needed—time.

The recruitment drive for the Bronze Camp proceeded with remarkable efficiency. The available quota of over two thousand positions was filled within a mere two days, successfully establishing the Bronze Eleventh Thousand-person Team. These recruits were slated for an intensive one-hundred-day training regimen.

Following this, fifty elite warriors from the Bronze Camp, accompanied by another fifty from the clan, departed from the Star-Eye Clan’s territory en route to the Library Palace. Aslan was among this contingent.

Upon their return, these individuals were expected to exhibit a substantial increase in their combat prowess.

Leveraging the array of techniques and skills Ye Zhongming had acquired from the Library Palace, the entirety of the Bronze Camp became engrossed in rigorous cultivation, leading to rapid advancements in their individual strengths.

Ye Zhongming followed suit, diligently cultivating his own abilities while simultaneously manufacturing equipment and refining his craft. His success rate in producing a single piece of Red Condensation-grade equipment had now surpassed seventy percent.

This achievement represented a formidable accomplishment. Based on Ye Zhongming’s current understanding, with the exception of a select few master craftsmen among the Taros Red Dwarves, no one else could boast such a high success rate.

The Red Condensation-grade equipment that was manufactured could not be released into the market in large volumes. Doing so would not only depress prices but also attract unwelcome attention from the Taros Red Dwarves.

Therefore, only one or two pieces were occasionally made available at the shop located in Darkstrip City, the largest urban center within the survivor fortress. The publicly stated explanation for these sales was the Star-Eye Clan's purportedly strained finances necessitating the liquidation of their reserves.

For a smaller clan, the distribution of a few pieces of Red Condensation-grade equipment was not considered an unusual occurrence.

Of the remaining equipment, Ye Zhongming allocated a portion as rewards for the Bronze Camp. Another segment was distributed to the clan, with no further oversight on their utilization. Naturally, some pieces were also sent down to Earth. The rest were entrusted to Helsky for distribution through various channels.

Regarding the second ten million sent by the Library Palace, Ye Zhongming had no immediate personal need for these funds. Instead, he allocated two million to Helsky, recognizing the substantial capital required for Helsky's operations, which included facilitating the sale of Ye Zhongming’s goods.

As Ye Zhongming calculated the passage of time, he recognized that the moment to depart for the Su Race was approaching. However, a critical matter remained unresolved before his departure—the primary reason he had not accompanied Jie Su to the Su Race.

His intention was to eliminate certain individuals within Darkstrip City.
