Ancient Godly Monarch Chapter 2044 - The Worries of Age Eighteen

Significant transformations occurred daily across every region of the Supreme Ancient Immortal Realms. New powers emerged constantly, and countless prodigies rose to prominence. Each shared a common ambition: to become associated with the Godking Palace. Whether it was the Battle Saint Tribe, the Southern Phoenix Clan, or the Myriad Devil Islands, gaining entry into any branch of the Godking Palace meant a meteoric rise. It offered a path to the Heaven Vault, where one could travel directly to the constellations to comprehend their personal Dao.

These shifts within the Supreme Ancient Immortal Realms rippled through the other thirty-two immortal realms as well. The Eastern Royal and Blazing Sun Immortal Realms experienced the most profound changes. Previously, the Eastern Royal Immortal Realms had been devastated by Yue Changkong, who had slaughtered countless lives to use as nutrients for his power. Now, the region was slowly regaining its life force. In the Blazing Sun Immortal Realms, the governing Cao Clan had a change of heart. They respectfully welcomed back Cao Tian, the rebellious son they had once cast out. Following a clan council, they even decided to offer him the position of clan leader.

Those relatives who had once despised Cao Tian now approached him with apologies and lavish gifts, hoping to repair their fractured bonds. Cao Tian’s response was simple: he had no interest in leading the clan. He preferred to travel the world with his companions, indulging in his passion for drinking. His circle of friends remained the same—Ten Miles Springwind, Old Ghost, and the others—though they were now joined by the Sword Monarch, Jian Junlai.

Whenever the mood struck them, they would enter the Heaven Vault to seek enlightenment from the stars. It was a life of ultimate freedom. Despite repeated pleas from the Cao Clan to use his influence to connect them with the Godking Palace so their Elders could cultivate in the Heaven Vault, Cao Tian ignored them. He knew a single word to Qin Wentian would make it happen, but he felt no obligation toward the cultivation progress of those old men.

The Azure Mystic Immortal Realms, however, saw the most radical evolution. It felt as though a new world was being forged; vast new territories emerged and ancient ruins were unearthed. This drew explorers not just from Azure Mystic, but from the Supreme Ancient Immortal Realms as well. Azure Mystic held a magnetic pull for outsiders, not only for its secrets but because it was the birthplace of Qin Wentian. To the inhabitants of this world, Qin Wentian was revered as the Heaven Empyrean.

By now, the people of Azure Mystic were well aware that their Heaven Empyrean had ascended to become the Ancient Godly Monarch, the undisputed ruler of the thirty-three immortal realms. His power was unmatched, filling the people of Azure Mystic with immense pride.

Many travelers from the Supreme Ancient Immortal Realms journeyed to Azure Mystic to uncover the history of the Ancient Godly Monarch. They were stunned to learn that Qin Wentian’s legend actually predated his time in Azure Mystic. His journey began in one of the many humble particle worlds nearby. From a mere particle world, he had climbed to the very pinnacle of the universe. Seeking to understand how such a legend was forged, many sought out his original home, hoping to find inspiration or simply to pay homage to his path of growth.

Legendary figures always draw the world's gaze. Some hoped to glean valuable insights from his life story to aid their own progress, while others were merely driven by curiosity and respect for his mythic status.

Time passed swiftly, like a weaver’s shuttle. Sixteen years had already slipped away since the great war for hegemony ended.

Long ago, after Qin Wentian moved his loved ones away from his home particle world, the place had fallen into a long period of quiet. However, over the years, it gradually became a bustling hub of activity, honored as the birthplace of the Ancient Godly Monarch. Various powers from the Azure Mystic Immortal Realms established branches there to scout for talent. With Qin Wentian’s rise as the ultimate example, no one dared to look down on those from a particle world. True heroes, it was clear, could come from anywhere.

Furthermore, the world remained peaceful because no one was foolish enough to commit evil acts there. Knowing it was the Ancient Godly Monarch’s home, people feared his divine sense might sweep across the land at any moment. The potential consequences for those who brought darkness to his birthplace were too terrifying to imagine.

Unbeknownst to the world, Qin Wentian was currently residing in that very particle world.

He sat quietly on a chair outside a modest hut, basking in the sunlight. Nearly sixteen years had passed, and Qingcheng was growing up. In just a few more years, her memories would likely begin to return.

“Strange uncle!” a voice called out. A graceful figure riding an immortal crane descended from the sky. As the crane touched down, Qin Wentian looked at the beautiful young woman dressed in white and felt as if he were dreaming. When he first met Mo Qingcheng, she had been this exact age and possessed this identical appearance. Her beauty was enough to cause the fall of cities. Seeing her atop the crane, she truly looked like a celestial maiden from the nine heavens.

The cycle of reincarnation felt like a dream. Though it was the same particle world, this was a different Mo Residence. The familiarity of it all felt surreal.

The current Qingcheng possessed the same look and temperament as the woman he had first encountered all those years ago.

“You’ve made a breakthrough,” Qin Wentian noted with a smile. She had reached the Celestial Phenomenon Realm before even turning sixteen. In the past, such a feat would have stunned the entire world.

“Mhm, my teacher has been helping me. I broke through recently, and my teacher gave me this immortal crane as a reward,” Mo Qingcheng explained, smiling brightly. She hopped down from the crane and walked over to him. “Strange uncle, I wanted to ask your advice about something.”

“Go ahead,” Qin Wentian replied with a nod. Over the years he spent watching her grow, she had come to view him as a member of her family. Although he had stayed away from the Mo Residence after being warned by her second uncle, Qingcheng frequently visited his small hut to see him.

“An immortal Sect visited the Mo Residence; they want to take me in as a disciple. I’m not sure if I should accept,” she said softly.

“Do you want to go?” Qin Wentian asked.

“No,” Mo Qingcheng said, shaking her head and smiling. “If I leave, I won’t be able to visit you anymore.”

“Then don’t go if you don’t want to,” Qin Wentian told her, his eyes full of affection. While he could easily follow her anywhere to protect her, he wanted her to live according to her own heart and be happy.

“But my parents and the Elders are pressuring me. They say they’ve pinned all their hopes on my success. I don’t want to let them down,” she sighed, caught in a difficult spot.

“Follow your heart. Whatever you choose, I will be here to support you,” Qin Wentian said warmly.

Mo Qingcheng’s eyes brightened as she looked at him. “Thank you, strange uncle. Out of everyone, you understand me the best. I’ve actually been meaning to ask you something else.”

“What is it?”

She leaned in close, her face nearly touching his. Her long eyelashes fluttered as her beautiful eyes studied him. Then, she giggled. “Since I was a little girl, I’ve watched my parents’ Cultivation grow, and I’ve watched them age. But you, strange uncle... you look exactly the same as the day we met. You haven't aged at all.”

She wore a playful, knowing smile, as if she had uncovered a great secret.

“Perhaps I simply know a method to keep my youth longer than most,” Qin Wentian joked. It seemed she had realized he wasn't just an ordinary man.

“Is that so? I’ll wait a few more years and see if you change then!” Mo Qingcheng laughed. She climbed back onto her crane and flew toward her home.

“Sixteen years already,” Qin Wentian whispered as he watched her disappear. To him, those sixteen years felt like millennia, yet he was content to wait and watch over her. Seeing her every day brought a sense of peace to his soul. This was the debt of love he owed her.

When Mo Qingcheng eventually joined the immortal Sect, it caused a sensation throughout the country. She would now be trained by immortals from Azure Mystic, bringing great honor to the Mo Residence. Curiously, she managed to convince the Sect to let her stay in her small home city. They even established a local branch just for her. It was likely that her incredible talent convinced them to grant her such an unusual request.

Qin Wentian was pleased when he heard the news. It was a perfect compromise; she could stay near him while making her family proud. She had come to tell him personally, her excitement evident. Even though he already knew, seeing her joy made him happy as well.

Two more years passed, and Mo Qingcheng reached the age of eighteen.

On her eighteenth birthday, she chose to spend time at Qin Wentian’s hut rather than at home. Little Rascal jumped into her arms immediately, just as he used to do when they were young in the Chu Country. The little beast clearly missed those days.

“Happy birthday,” Qin Wentian said, greeting her with a smile. He never forgot the date.

However, Mo Qingcheng seemed troubled. Her brow was furrowed, though she tried to relax as she spoke. “Strange uncle, would you drink with me today?”

Recognizing she was burdened, Qin Wentian nodded. She produced several jugs of wine and glanced toward one of the rooms. “Will the immortal sister be upset?”

“She won’t mind,” Qin Wentian assured her, referring to Qing’er.

“Good,” Mo Qingcheng said, looking relieved. She began to drink, and Qin Wentian joined her. Little Rascal even hopped over to pour himself a cup, swallowing it in one gulp, which made Mo Qingcheng laugh despite her mood.

The wine was potent, and soon her face was flushed. At eighteen, her beauty was already rivaling that of heavenly immortals. The slight glow of intoxication only added to her charm, prompting a silent sigh from Qin Wentian. She was finally an adult. Only two years remained until the twenty-year mark.

“Today is my birthday, but it’s the unhappiest I’ve ever been. My parents want me to marry a man I don’t love. He’s a top genius in the Sect, but why should I have to marry him just because he asked? I have no feelings for him,” she confessed, the wine loosening her tongue.

Qin Wentian remained calm. He was already aware of the situation; nothing in the Mo Residence escaped his notice. While the situation annoyed him, he wasn't worried. In this entire universe, no one had the power to take his woman away from him.

“My parents and Elders keep saying it’s for my own good. They claim he’s the best match and that I’ll be happy with him because of his prospects. But I just don’t like him,” she murmured. She looked up at Qin Wentian. “Do you understand, strange uncle?”

“I do,” he replied with a soft nod.

Mo Qingcheng smiled brightly at his response. “You really are the one person in this world who truly understands me.”

Qin Wentian nodded with absolute sincerity. Indeed, no one in existence understood her better than he did.
