Leon and Dusk enter the third floor gate, only to find themselves on an endless staircase. Dusk is affected by the mist, hallucinating and attacking Leon before Leon realizes it's an illusion. Leon manages to wake himself up, but Dusk is still affected. A familiar voice calls to Leon, appearing as an illusion of Cherry, who offers herself to him. Leon sees through the illusion and breaks Cherry's neck, acknowledging the satisfaction despite knowing it's not real.

"I believed you cherished this woman." Cherry commented while observing Leon.

"Perhaps you should mend your neck first, and then we can converse?" Leon proposed with a grin.

*Crack*

"Alright." Cherry responded, promptly realigning her neck with an audible snap.

"My affection for this woman is genuine, yet I possess my own intellect and memories. Though you endeavor to cloud them with your spurious techniques, there's one thing you cannot obliterate."

"Many aspects of my past and even my current life have faded from recollection. However, the memory of my demise is indelibly seared into both my mind and soul. Your best efforts cannot eradicate it." Leon declared, his smile fixed on Cherry.

"Indeed... Your recollection spans two lifetimes, and the memory of your end is particularly potent. Yet, the longer you remain ensnared in my illusions, the more fractured your mind will become. Eventually, your consciousness will merge with mine." The mist-like entity stated, fixing its gaze upon Leon.

"And what makes you presume you can indefinitely hold me within your illusions?" Leon inquired, a smile playing on his lips.

"Your attempts to escape only drew you deeper into my illusions. What would you even gain by breaking free?"

"Agony, torment, and arduous struggle... However, should you choose to remain, I shall bestow upon you everything. All your heart’s desires, even your most extravagant fantasies, will manifest. You will experience them as reality, your senses heightened, and even intimacy will provide tenfold pleasure."

"Death itself shall hold no dominion over you." the mist declared.

"Hmm... You already possess all my memories. So, why do you seek to absorb my consciousness?" Leon asked, a look of bewilderment on his face.

"Your mind is exceptionally robust. I anticipate immense amusement in shattering it, as it has been quite some time since I've engaged in such a pursuit." the mist replied with a smile.

"Very well then... Give it your absolute best shot. I prefer the embrace of real women over the depraved fantasies your mind conjures." Leon retorted, a smile in place.

"A far simpler existence was within your grasp, yet you choose suffering... Truly, the intricacies of human beings elude me."

"I shall conjure the most terrifying demons from your nightmares. You will drown in misery and pain until your senses utterly fail, and only then will you plead for death – a plea I shall not grant." the mist proclaimed before vanishing.

’From carnal pleasures and an easy life to a dog’s death… quite the dramatic shift.’ Leon mused with a smile, promptly taking a seat on the ground and closing his eyes.

’Illusions are merely potent when one perceives them as real. She can replicate everything from my memories, but she cannot replicate the System.'

’While the System registers as offline whenever I attempt to use a skill, is it truly inactive?’ Leon contemplated with a serious mien.

’Oi, White Fox… Can you hear me?’ Leon projected into his mind.

’Hmm…? What is it now, kid?’ White Fox’s voice responded from the other end.

’How can I ascertain your reality and not mistake you for the mist conversing with me?’ Leon inquired in a tone of uncertainty.

*Shhhh*

Abruptly, his consciousness was wrenched from his physical form.

*Blink-Blink*

Leon’s eyes fluttered open, revealing his return to the familiar beach. White Fox was poised on a wooden chair, basking in the sun beneath a pine tree.

"What do you mean, questioning my reality?" White Fox inquired, rising from his seat and approaching Leon.

"I find myself ensnared within an intricate web of illusions, and I must confess, I harbor doubts about your own existence." Leon stated cautiously.

"Within an illusion…? Allow me to investigate." White Fox declared, gesturing expansively. The environment around them transformed instantaneously.

The sky abruptly shifted to night, and a colossal projection materialized, unfolding across the celestial canvas. It displayed Leon’s own eyes, mirroring his visual perception.

Within the projection, an ethereal white mist swirled and danced before Leon’s face, penetrating his mouth and plunging him into a trance-like state.

"My Adaptive Body failed to respond, indicating this mist is of an unusual nature. If only I could retrace my steps…" Leon commented, his expression impassive.

"Hmm… It is indeed toying with your psyche. Your course of action is simple: resist." White Fox advised with an even tone.

"How in the blazes am I supposed to achieve that? She commands the illusions, and every attempt to break free only entangles me further." Leon retorted, his confusion evident.

"Then… alter the battlefield. Relocate the conflict to a domain where you hold the advantage."

"If your mind is being manipulated, you must transport your consciousness to your soul realm and confront the entity there. I can detect potent beings within your soul realm. Engage in combat there, and victory shall be yours." White Fox concluded with a smile.

"Even if I obliterate her minions within the soul realm... she will simply conjure more." Leon responded, his expression impassive.

"No... that is where you are mistaken. Once you vanquish them in the soul realm, the rest falls to me." The white fox stated, a grin playing on its lips.

"Are you intending to seize control of my body?" Leon inquired, a look of bewilderment crossing his features.

"There is no necessity for that... Proceed now and shift the conflict to a battleground that favors your strengths. You shall receive but a single opportunity to regain dominion over your physical form, do not squander it." The white fox advised with a smile.

"Very well... I shall place my trust in you this time, as no other path presents itself. However, I must ask, why are you assisting me now?" Leon questioned, his brow furrowed in confusion.

"Should you perish before mastering the technique, I shall remain imprisoned here for additional centuries." The white fox replied, a smile gracing its features as it gently touched Leon's forehead. Abruptly, his awareness receded, and he found himself back within the confines of the illusion.
