All MILFs are Mine Chapter 314: This is what you call politics

Thirty minutes earlier...
"No... I'll handle him." Leon declared while advancing and lifting his palm.
Meanwhile, Enid crossed her arms behind her and dug her nail deeply into her fingertip.
'Come on... I can't screw this up; the moment needs to be spot-on.' Enid pondered, her face etched with intensity.
...
"That's sufficient." Leon responded, grinning.
All at once, a blade from the Nyxter hurtled in from the side, slicing a tiny gash across his finger.
'Now...' Enid mused as she slashed her own finger sharply with her nail.
*Drop*
*Drop*
Drops of their blood plummeted onto the circle, yet one key detail stood out: the demon pact circle ignited in a fierce crimson glow prior to Leon's blood even landing.
"The agreement is sealed. Oh, and I might have omitted one detail—the first to exit this pact circle perishes in ten seconds... Hehehehe." Merlin cackled with a deranged grin, convinced he'd bound Leon to the pact.
Current moment...
Leon now rode in the royal carriage alongside Adwin and Dreulis.
"Hmm... I get it, so he shared a pact with that demon girl, and since the demon remained unaware, by the rules, he became the initial one to leave the circle.
That proved a clever strategy." Adwin commented, beaming broadly at Leon.
"Truly a sharp tactic; even I wouldn't have devised such a plan. But how did you realize the demon girl had let her blood fall onto the pact circle ahead of yours?" Dreulis inquired, eyeing Leon.
"Well, while I lay wounded on the ground... I glanced at everyone's expressions, and only Enid wore a smile. Before I could puzzle out her reason for grinning... she snapped her finger, sending a droplet of her blood to the earth.
That's when it hit me why she looked so pleased." Leon answered, smiling.
"So... you staked your life on that alone?" Adwin questioned, his face registering astonishment.
"Not just that... You wagered again by dashing from the pact circle. What made you certain the demon would pursue you?" Dreulis pressed, staring at Leon.
"Like I mentioned before... it was all a bet. Had I lost, death would have claimed me. That's the gist of it." Leon stated evenly.
"A man unafraid of dying... great accomplishments await you." Dreulis remarked.
"Well, he's already a ruler. An exceptionally strong and cunning one, too." Adwin added, grinning.
"Yeah... on that note, I'm no king, Adwin." Leon said, turning to Adwin.
"What?" Adwin blurted, his eyes bulging in surprise.
"Correct. No realm called Gotham exists, and I'm not its monarch. That's all I'll reveal about myself right now.
I fabricated that tale merely to slip by your son at the border that day. Your spy overheard it and reported back to you." Leon clarified.
"And... it never crossed your mind to reveal the truth at the banquet or that covert gathering?" Adwin demanded, his tone rising.
"Adwin... I deceived you, and for that, I'm sorry. But keep your voice low." Leon urged, fixing him with a stern gaze.
"You have no clue who you're addressing. I'm the sovereign of this blasted realm, and you had the nerve to deceive me?
I considered you a companion. Heavens... I'm utterly let down." Adwin vented, glaring at Leon in fury.
"Two points: I've never implied friendship on my part, and you summoned me to that assembly solely to throw more troops into the fray for your sake." Leon countered calmly.
"I'd exhaust every resource to safeguard my realm and its citizens. Forming ties with a nearby kingdom is mere diplomacy." Adwin retorted gravely.
"Well... I just rescued your realm from a demonic assault, and you owe me a massive debt. I'll collect when the occasion arises." Leon stated flatly.
"You believe I'm intimidated by you simply because you slew a few demons through a life-or-death wager? Give me one motive to view that as a debt from a notorious deceiver like yourself?"
"No need... after all, you're a genuine ruler, and I can't halt your political games. Nor can I impose my desires on you. This is my destination; could you instruct your coachman to—"
"HALT THE CARRIAGE!" Adwin bellowed, and the vehicle screeched to a stop at once.
*SCREEEEECH*
Leon rose from his position, straightened his attire, and pivoted toward Adwin.
"What?" Adwin queried sternly.
"I dispatched some demons today, but is the threat ended? Your heir still battles demons elsewhere, the elves constantly probe the borders.
Countless troops perished at an outpost, and I've witnessed the beast behind it. I've clashed with it, and trust me, should it annihilate another battalion... you'll face tough questions from your subjects, for you wouldn't want them aware of such a formidable unseen horror prowling the woods—should they learn, I doubt they'd remain in your realm.
Amid these perils... you truly shouldn't forge additional foes, King Adwin. So, pause before rejecting my favor outright.
Now, I'll depart." Leon declared, his eyes flashing vivid red beneath his mask as waves of murderous intent emanated from him.
Adwin regarded him gravely, eyes wide; though unafraid of Leon, words escaped him in response.
He then exited the carriage, and prior to shutting the door, Leon cast a final glance at Adwin.
"This is politics, King Adwin. I'm Leon Luster, and I dislike when folks overlook my favors." Leon said, doffing his mask and sealing the carriage door.
*THUD*
