In a flash, pitch-black armor cloaked Leon's entire form, while his eyes darkened to complete obscurity.
*Thud*
The mask covering his face dropped to the ground with a heavy sound.
"Kill or Die." Leon muttered in a deep tone, extending his hand once more as Nyxter's handle hurtled toward his grasp.
*Grab*
He seized it firmly, and the remaining blades soared from various angles to connect with the handle.
"What sort of sword is that?" Ruben questioned, his face etched with bewilderment.
"A detachable blade... I've never encountered anything like it before, and I figured I'd wielded every weapon out there." Adwin commented gravely, fixing his gaze on Leon.
"Aura cut First Form: THOUSAND BLADES." Merlin unleashed his ability, sending a horde of unseen aura-forged blades rushing at Leon at maximum velocity.
*Tang-Tang-Tang-Tang-Tang*
The full barrage of a thousand blades struck Leon at top speed, yet he remained rooted in place.
"Hmm... That armor of yours, it's impressive. I'll claim it after you're gone. I'll tear it right off—" Merlin's words cut off abruptly as Leon lifted his hand.
"Steel web Reflect..."
[250% magic damage will be reflected!!!]
"His bloodlust..." Merlin whispered lowly, sensing an intense danger emanating from Leon in that moment.
<Flowbind Breathing>
<Blind Spot>
*Swish*
Out of nowhere, Leon vanished from Merlin's view.
"What?" Merlin's eyes bulged in astonishment, instantly detecting Leon's presence right at his back.
*Touch*
Leon pressed his middle finger to Merlin's spine and uttered.
"Steel web Reflect..."
[250% magic damage will be reflected]
All at once, Merlin's body shook with fierce tremors, blood erupting in sprays all around.
"GWAAAHHHHHH..."
"What the—!?"
"How did he—!?"
Ruben and Gris stood stunned the moment they witnessed Leon's technique.
"What technique is that?" Adwin inquired, confusion clouding his features.
"A teleportation technique fused with reflection... The power fueling it came from his armor." Dreulis answered steadily, keeping his attention locked on Leon.
After spewing a gush of blood, Merlin's regeneration surged, mending his form in a mere instant.
Wasting no time, he dashed away from Leon at breakneck pace.
*Swish*
'What in the world was that? It was like my own strike bounced back at me twice as strong. I knew he could teleport, but how's he doing it so swiftly?' Merlin pondered with a grim look, eyeing Leon intently.
"I haven't even drawn my sword yet, and you're already fleeing?" Leon taunted mockingly, glancing at Merlin.
"Y-You..." Merlin stammered, hoisting his hands anew as a pair of glowing crimson swords materialized in his grip.
<BLOOD HOUNDS: BLOOD THIRST>
Merlin drove both swords straight into his own hearts without hesitation.
*BOOOOOOOOOM*
A surge of bloodlust exploded from Merlin's frame, his skin turning fully crimson while his eyes blazed with golden light.
"He offered up his own hearts to finish the ritual." Enid stated solemnly, her eyes flaring wide in alarm.
"My, my... Seems it's time to get serious about this." Leon remarked, a sly smirk curling his lips.
"What do you know of this ritual, little demon girl?" Dreulis queried, shifting his gaze toward Enid.
"What!?" Ruben exclaimed in shock, staring at Dreulis.
"A demon?" Gris echoed, whipping around to face Enid.
"She's a demon?" Adwin pressed gravely, clenching his sword tighter.
Before Enid could respond, Dusk positioned himself protectively in front of her, his eyes boring into Adwin with lethal intent.
"Don't you dare lay a finger on her, or master will reduce you and this entire kingdom to ashes." Dusk warned in a weighty tone.
Adwin retreated a step, eyeing Dusk warily and lowering his blade.
"Very well... If she's sir Michael’s slave, then I have no issue." Adwin responded evenly.
"Good..." Dusk acknowledged, stepping back from Enid gradually.
"You were explaining the ritual." Dreulis prompted quietly.
"Ah yes... Blood Hounds is the sole sword art usable by aura masters. Yet it's banned because it demands the sacrifice of two hearts.
It doesn't matter whose hearts they are, and with demons possessing six, Merlin gave up two of his to slay master.
Upon completing the offering, the caster gains immense physical strength and a mystical vision revealing two seconds ahead." Enid detailed calmly.
"A forbidden sacrificial art that bestows vast power and foresight. There must be severe consequences." Dreulis observed.
"The art lasts only three minutes without claiming a life via the swords... Then the blades seize control, wielding the caster until utter depletion." Enid clarified.
"The curse of takeover. It seems demons are truly desperate this round... Willing to forfeit souls and flesh just to topple a human—it's madness." Dreulis mused, turning his focus back to Leon and spotting an oddity with his weapon.
Leon dragged his middle finger along Nyxter's edge toward the opposite side.
<Blade Of Artimes>
The moment he triggered the skill, flames leaped in Dreulis’ eyes with vivid intensity.
'That ability... I've witnessed it once. It doesn't hail from this world. Could he have conquered that ordeal?' Dreulis wondered, his intrigue swelling ever deeper.
