After Transmigrating as a Tycoon’s Wife, My Thoughts Are Heard by the Whole Family Chapter 4

Previously on After Transmigrating as a Tycoon’s Wife, My Thoughts Are Heard by the Whole Family...
Director Tang's ambition leads to a disastrous plan as he attempts to use his son, Tang Jun, to test Secretary Jin's loyalty, unwittingly sacrificing Tang Jun's credibility in the process. With tensions rising, Qin Xian determines to uncover the truth behind Ji Fei's suspicious connection to a rival company and finds himself inadvertently drawn into a deceitful web orchestrated by Secretary Jin. As Ji Fei grapples with her desire for divorce amidst escalating accusations, Qin Xian's investigation threatens to expose the hidden alliances surrounding them, leaving everyone on edge as the stakes continue to rise.

Secretary Jin was caught off guard by Qin Xian’s blunt refusal to save face for her, causing her complexion to turn a sickly shade of green. She bit her lip hard, looking as pathetic and wronged as possible. Her eyes fixed on Qin Xian with a resentful glare, as if she were facing a cold-blooded man who had abandoned her.

Tang Jun, fueled by a surge of protective rage, stepped forward to defend the lady. "Are you truly going to be this heartless? This is a blatant assassination of Secretary Jin's character!"

However, Tang Jun’s bravado wilted the moment he met Qin Xian's genuinely frigid expression and piercing gaze. His anger quickly deflated as he added, "If you find nothing, you owe Secretary Jin a formal apology."

While the other onlookers remained silent, the indignation written on their faces spoke volumes.

The commotion had already drawn the gaze of the entire firm, bringing several members of the upper management to the scene.

After all, a high-level professional like Secretary Jin was considered a vital asset to the company.

In their eyes, Qin Xian seemed to have lost his mind. It was common knowledge in their social circles that while Qin Xian could easily discard Ji Fei—the troublesome and useless Mrs. Qin—he absolutely could not function without the expertise of Secretary Jin.

Ji Fei, meanwhile, suspected that the crowd hadn't gathered out of concern, but rather to enjoy the unfolding drama.

One only had to look at those curious, gossiping eyes to see the truth.

On one side was the legal wife in name only, and on the other was Secretary Jin, the woman who had managed to remain by the side of the notoriously aloof Qin Xian for years.

It was likely that people had already started placing bets on the outcome of this confrontation.

Ji Fei, who usually preferred the role of a spectator, never imagined she would be the one center stage.

The irony was not lost on her; the joke was truly on her this time!

Frustrated, Ji Fei could do nothing but direct a resentful stare at Qin Xian’s back.

Qin Xian, however, stood as tall and unyielding as a mountain pine, offering nothing but his broad shoulders to Ji Fei’s silent attacks.

Even so, his ears were practically ringing from the relentless stream of Ji Fei’s mental complaints.

Was this woman always this loud in her head?

Before long, the results of the initial check were announced.

As expected, no immediate evidence of misconduct was discovered.

Tang Jun instantly became arrogant. "Qin Xian, are you still planning to shield Ji Fei?"

Qin Xian felt the heat of the glare boring into his back intensify.

"Mr. Qin, do you finally believe me now?" Secretary Jin’s eyes welled with tears, looking as though she were on the verge of a breakdown.

Qin Xian glanced down at his phone for a moment before looking back at Secretary Jin.

In that heartbeat, the sheer coldness in his eyes gave Secretary Jin a sudden, inexplicable sense of dread.

Just as everyone assumed the matter was concluded, they watched as Qin Xian ignored Secretary Jin and turned his attention toward the massive display screen behind him.

Confused, the crowd followed his lead, only to see a surveillance feed suddenly take over the screen.

The moment the video played, many recognized the setting as the entrance to Tang Jun's office; the footage clearly showed Secretary Jin walking inside.

The audience was baffled, sensing a sudden shift in the narrative.

Among the crowd, only Secretary Jin’s expression transformed drastically. Her body went cold, and her pupils trembled with fear.

Tang Jun pointed at the screen, shouting in a fit of rage, "Qin Xian, what is the meaning of this? You’re actually scrutinizing footage of Secretary Jin simply delivering files?"

Qin Xian paid him no mind, his cold eyes focused entirely on the video.

At that moment, the shrewd Director Tang’s face shifted when he noticed the timestamp on the recording.

When the footage showed his son exiting the office alone, leaving Secretary Jin behind, Director Tang’s face turned ashen instantly.

A short while later, Secretary Jin was seen leaving, and Tang Jun returned cheerfully with a fruit plate. Finding the room empty, he appeared to lose his temper.

While the crowd was still trying to piece it together, the screen transitioned to a log of computer activities.

Shockingly, the desktop was cluttered with various beautiful photographs of Secretary Jin.

The looks directed at Tang Jun became increasingly strange, making Director Tang feel as if he might cough up blood from the humiliation.

Embarrassed and furious, Tang Jun jumped up. "Qin Xian, you actually sent someone to hack my computer?!"

Indeed, a specialist had bypassed Tang Jun’s password in an effort to retrieve all deleted email logs.

Tang Jun had barely finished his outburst when he noticed Secretary Jin swaying unsteadily beside him.

He immediately reached out to support the beauty, still completely oblivious to the real danger.

Director Tang, however, could no longer mask his boiling rage.

Many in the room began to realize what was happening, and the atmosphere turned icy. The silence was so heavy you could hear a pin drop, or perhaps the frantic heartbeats of those involved.

Finally, the recovered emails containing the leaked confidential files were displayed, with the transmission times enlarged for everyone to see.

When the email times were compared to the surveillance footage, the truth was undeniable to anyone with eyes.

Well, almost anyone.

Tang Jun stared at the display for a few seconds before barking at Qin Xian, "You’ve lost your mind! You actually forged this video just to slander her and protect Ji Fei..."

His tirade was cut short by a heavy slap to the back of his head from his father.

The force sent Tang Jun stumbling toward the floor.

"Dad!"

"Shut your mouth!" Director Tang snapped. He then turned frantically toward Qin Xian and the other executives. "As you can see, my son has no part in this. He was manipulated! He’s nothing but a fool!"

At this point, he had to label his son an idiot to save him.

If he didn't distance Tang Jun from the act, and they were suspected of being accomplices, no amount of explanation would save them.

"Secretary Jin, how could you be so cruel? To use my son and frame Mrs. Qin! How has Mr. Qin ever mistreated you for you to betray him like this?"

Director Tang desperately tried to paint a picture of a scorned woman to shift the focus of the scandal.

Every eye in the room was now fixed on Secretary Jin.

The air was thick with shock, skepticism, and burning anger.

The staff from the CEO’s Office were particularly incensed, their faces flushed with shame. They had just finished defending Secretary Jin and condemning Mrs. Qin with such certainty.

Now, they felt so humiliated they wished they could vanish through the floorboards.

Knowing Mr. Qin’s ruthless standards, they would likely all be fired. Secretary Jin had single-handedly ruined their careers!

Despite their internal fury, they remained silent, trying to make themselves as small as possible.

By now, Secretary Jin’s face was deathly pale. Her breath came in shallow gasps, and her entire frame was trembling.

She looked at Qin Xian with a gaze full of despair, yet she still clutched at a final shred of denial.

"Qin Xian, I didn't do it..."

"Agent Wei is your sister-in-law. You plotted with her to set Ji Fei up, didn't you?"

Qin Xian’s calm statement was the final blow that shattered her composure.

The room erupted into a cacophony of whispers.

"How did you... You already knew?" Secretary Jin’s spirit finally broke.

The rest of the onlookers stared at Qin Xian in awe; nobody had predicted such a dramatic reversal.

Ji Fei’s mind had gone blank from the moment the video started playing.

It was one thing for her to know the truth through her special means, but how was Qin Xian so incredibly sharp?

The mention of her agent finally snapped her back to reality.

[Wait, did Qin Xian already know about Agent Wei’s connection? Is that why he suspected Secretary Jin? But how on earth did he link it to Tang Jun?]

Director Tang was also reeling, wondering exactly how the trail had led so directly to his son.

Qin Xian glanced at the bewildered Ji Fei. He could hardly explain to the room that the entire truth had been served to him via his wife’s inner monologue.

"We can deal with the agent later. Once you fell under suspicion, it was only logical to audit all surveillance of your solo movements and check every device you had contact with."

Secretary Jin had failed to wipe the very footage that condemned her—the exact oversight Ji Fei had noted earlier.
