Huo Shiqian recounts his mission and how he learned of Xia Chuyi's kidnapping upon his return. He reveals Guo Jiumin's plan to ruin Xia Chuyi's reputation and propose to her after Huo Shiqian's supposed death, further enraging him. Both Huo Shiqian and Xia Chuyi reaffirm their commitment to being more careful given their family responsibilities.

Xia Chuyi placed her hand over Huo Shiqian’s, murmuring an affirmation.

The tender exchange between the married couple brought tears to the eyes of Taozi, who was operating the vehicle.

"Commander, Sister-in-law..." Taozi began, but was quickly silenced by a stern look from both Huo Shiqian and Xia Chuyi.

What a party pooper.

Having concluded their conversation, Huo Shiqian and Xia Chuyi arrived back at their residence.

Upon their return, Mrs. Ou immediately enveloped Xia Chuyi in a warm embrace, gently chiding her.

"My child, you are a mother yourself now. How can you be so reckless and cause such worry?" Mrs. Ou lamented, her voice thick with emotion. "You've only been home a few years, and if another incident were to occur, how would I possibly be able to bear it?"

Taken aback by Mrs. Ou's words, Xia Chuyi felt a pang of guilt, acknowledging that she had indeed acted impulsively this time.

She had never anticipated an unforeseen encounter with Xia Pan, which in turn led to Guo Jiumin bringing Xia Pan along, leaving Xia Chuyi in a rather vulnerable position.

"Mom, I'm truly sorry. I promise it won't happen again," Xia Chuyi said sincerely to her mother.

"Without the timely intervention of these two children, who knows when we would have been able to find Chuyi." Mrs. Ou expressed her profound gratitude.

Nodding in agreement with Mrs. Ou's sentiments, Ou ZhenTing stated, "Indeed, these children are exceptional."

"They are not only intelligent but also possess a strong sense of gratitude. Compared to... it is simply worlds apart."

It was implicitly understood by everyone present that the individual whose name Ou ZhenTing deliberately omitted was Ou Lianlian.

"Mmm," Huo Shiqian readily acknowledged.

"ZhenTing, please refrain from dwelling on these matters for now. Commander Huo has only just returned; allow him to see the child first," Mrs. Ou interjected. "Both of you, Commander Huo and Chuyi, are now parents, and you must prioritize the well-being of your children."

Huo Shiqian and Xia Chuyi offered no objections, nodding in agreement.

To be entirely honest, after his extended mission, Huo Shiqian found himself deeply missing his son.

Huo Shiwu, exhibiting remarkable courage, showed no fear upon seeing his father. Instead, he gazed at him with wide, curious eyes.

Father and son quickly established a warm rapport.
