A Stay-at-home Dad’s Restaurant In An Alternate World Chapter 2481

"You…" Buckle’s wide eyes were flooded with disbelief and resentment as he stared at the massive cavity in his chest, his body slowly sinking to its knees.
Hundreds of kilometers away, Xi withdrew her finger from the trigger. Her habitually stoic expression was replaced by sheer amazement.
Having grown accustomed to watching him toil in the kitchen, she had nearly forgotten that this was a man who possessed the courage to challenge a Great Old One by himself.
Despite it being a clash between two combatants of the same rank, Mag had terminated his opponent in under two minutes. The level of power Mag exhibited had surpassed her wildest projections.
"Buckle is dead!"
!!
The glass Fergus was holding slipped from his fingers, shattering against the floor with a sharp crash. His face turned a ghostly, terrified white.
That was an Almost-Extraordinaire his family had spent a fortune to keep in their service. Yet, he had been slaughtered effortlessly in just a few exchanges!
What rank had that man reached? Was he an Extraordinaire?!
"I’m going to die!"
Fergus’s frame trembled violently. Regret gnawed at him; he realized now he should have truly surrendered to the authorities. At the very least, he wouldn’t be forced to face this executioner right now.
The butler looked just as shaken. While Buckle’s demise had shattered his resolve, he still attempted to comfort Fergus. "Please, stay calm, Third Young Master. The safe house’s defensive arrays are fully active. We only need to hold out for five minutes until the family’s reinforcements arrive. He likely won’t even find the safe house’s entra—"
The butler’s sentence was cut short as the man in black appeared on the external security monitors. He even went as far as flashing a "V" sign directly at the lens.
"He’s here! He’s here!"
Fergus recoiled in terror, scrambling into a corner. His eyes were wide with primal fear.
"Do not panic, Young Master. This entrance was reinforced by Extraordinaires. Even if he is an Extraordinaire himself, it is impossible for him to breach it in just a few minutes…"
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang…"
A rapid succession of blasts erupted, causing the massive door to shudder violently. The delicate internal mechanisms were instantly wrecked by the vibrations, rendered useless.
Bam!
The door, weighing over 5,000 kilograms, was kicked inward. The staring butler was flattened instantly beneath the weight, reduced to a gruesome pile of mangled flesh.
"Is this military-grade door-breaching charge specifically designed for use against the plutocrats?" Mag remarked as he stepped into the safe house, sword in hand. He glanced at the door ruined by the shock bomb. Had he relied on his own strength, breaking through would have cost him at least three to five minutes.
"Don’t kill me! Don’t kill me! I’ll give you anything. I’ll give you everything I own! Please, just let me live…"
Driven mad by fear, Fergus collapsed into a kowtow. He was oblivious to the fact that his legs were being sliced by the shattered glass, staining the floor red.
"Fergus Dixon. Identity confirmed." Mag looked down at him with a mocking sneer. "Aren’t you supposed to be in the Tucker City Justice Investigation Bureau? What are you doing here?"
"That’s a body double. That’s just my shadow. Please, take me to prison. I’ll submit to the law’s judgment. I want to atone for what I’ve done. Please. I want to go to jail. I want to go to jail…"
Fergus sobbed and begged. His only desire was to escape this killer; even a lifetime behind bars was a mercy compared to being slaughtered here.
He didn’t even dare to dwell on the horrific state Horace had been left in.
"Jail? If the legal system actually worked, there would be no need for 'The Adjudicator'." Mag’s lips curled into a cold smile. "If you can just walk free after a few years of luxury in a cell, how are the souls of the girls you destroyed supposed to find peace?"
Fergus turned as pale as parchment, still trying to stammer out pleas to buy himself time.
"Fergus Dixon, I am passing judgment now. Three years ago, you assaulted and murdered Selena. We have both the witnesses and the evidence. You are sentenced to death, effective immediately." Mag announced the verdict clearly, advancing toward Fergus with his blade drawn.
Fergus scrambled backward, shouting in terror, "Don’t kill me… Don’t kill me… I am a direct bloodline heir of the Dixon Family! They will never forgive you if you do this!"
Once I break into the Extraordinaire realm, I’ll use your Dixon Family’s Extraordinaires for combat practice, Mag thought to himself. He leveled his sword at Fergus’s face. "Since it was these eyes that first targeted that girl, I’ll start by destroying them."
The tip of the sword flicked out. The sound of bursting eyeballs was drowned out by Fergus’s agonizing shrieks and curses.
"Since you couldn't restrain your hands, we’ll remove them as well."
The blade descended, severing both hands.
"This final strike is a warning to every member of the plutocratic families: the law might fail to judge you, but I will not. Unless you spend every moment hiding behind your family’s Extraordinaire patriarch, I can reach you anywhere." Mag’s sword plunged into Fergus’s chest, extracting a still-beating heart. He cast it aside with a look of pure loathing.
"We need to leave. The enemy’s Extraordinaires will be on-site in three minutes," Xi’s voice crackled through his headset.
"Understood." Mag turned, sheathing his weapon. Under the petrified gazes of the maids, he took flight and vanished from the island.
Upon returning to the battleship, the vessel engaged its thrusters immediately, racing toward the open sea.
Mag settled into the passenger seat and opened WeTwit. With a few quick motions, he performed a basic edit on the footage before uploading it and initiating a live-stream playback.
The stream titled [The Judgment of Fergus] skyrocketed to the top of the trending charts.
#Judging Fergus!
The hashtag exploded across the platform.
"Holy sh*t! 'The Adjudicator' is live again!"
"What’s happening? Didn’t Fergus already turn himself in?"
"He took down Buckle, an Almost-Extraordinaire, in a solo fight. 'The Adjudicator' is terrifyingly strong!"
"The guy in prison was a body double! These plutocrats are absolutely rotten!"
"This is so satisfying! Scum like him who think they're above the law deserve exactly this!"
"Start shaking, you rich heirs!"
"The Justice Investigation Bureau is pathetic. They didn’t even realize they were holding a fake… Total incompetence!"
The stream and the clips went viral instantly. Even as they were purged from the site, the momentum of the scandal continued to build uncontrollably.
Xi watched Mag in silence.
Mag pulled off his mask, poured himself a cold glass of cola, and said with a grin, "Go ahead and ask. Don’t hold back."
"I hope this marks the end of these actions. You’ve caused a massive headache for the Underground City, and you are constantly pushing the boundaries of our laws. This could very well trigger a wave of vigilante copycats," Xi remarked gravely.
"If you were the one holding the sword in front of Fergus, would you have spared him?" Mag countered.
"When a commoner breaks the law, the commoner is erased. When a plutocrat breaks the law, the law is erased." Mag took a long drink of his soda and gave a cynical laugh. "So, is that the 'boundary' you’re worried about?"
Xi fell silent once more.
"Fine. I won’t be starting any more trouble for a while. I’m just passing through. If it weren't for Angelina, I wouldn't have bothered with this today. I’m no saint; I just do as I please." Mag closed his eyes, using a voice command to activate the seat’s massage function.
Though the duel with the Almost-Extraordinaire had been brief, he found many tactical details worth analyzing.
It wasn't that Buckle lacked strength; it was simply that Mag possessed too many hidden cards.
Whether it was the mental pressure or the utility of the flying sword, his methods were far beyond standard combat techniques.
That was the reason he had been able to end the life of such an opponent so quickly.
